Discover Engineering Week Drop In Workshop

Engineering week is back at the National Building Museum! This year’s theme is Transform Your Future, highlighting how engineers help shape our communities and spark inspiration for a better future. To celebrate, join us for a hands-on workshop exploring wind vestibules and windmills. Based on the picture book, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, by William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer, kids and their families will learn about the powerful work of mechanical engineers and how they are able to harness wind to transform our communities. Then, participants will have the opportunity to become engineers by crafting their own pinwheels and building windmills out of LEGO.
