Join illustrator Trap Bob to celebrate the release of her new coloring book! Meet Trap Bob, see into the process of making a coloring book, and find inspiration to decorate the pages of a coloring book yourself. Participants ages 7 and up are encouraged to pre-register for this free workshop. The first 40 participants will receive a copy of the coloring book.

This free day-long festival invites visitors to engage in drawing as a tool of communication and understanding in the world we design and build. Join Caldecott Medal award-winning author and illustrator David Macaulay for a live drawing demonstration. Experience VR drawing with artist Tomasz Wiktor and explore Polish influence on American architecture with the Polish Embassy. Ask your drawing questions to built environment professionals, illustrator Trap Bob, alumni illustrators from the Maryland Institute College of Art MFA program. Sketch the National Building Museum with new perspectives alongside Urban Sketchers DC. Practice your own skills with individual and community drawing activities from the National Building Museum, National Museum of Women in the Arts, DC Public Library, National Postal Museum, and Positive Chalk. Don’t forget to explore the illustrated stories that inspire us all with interactive storytimes, reading nook, and free admission to the Building Stories exhibition!
