Jeanne Gang, founding partner of Studio Gang, will present her approach to revitalizing existing buildings through strategic additions, as outlined in her book The Art of Architectural Grafting. Drawing on the horticultural practice of grafting, which joins new plants to older ones, Gang will demonstrate how this concept can be applied to architecture. She will showcase projects like the Richard Gilder Center at the American Museum of Natural History and the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, illustrating how grafting transforms both individual buildings and urban landscapes. After the presentation, Gang will join Deane Madsen, founder of BrutalistDC, for a discussion on the possibilities of grafting within Brutalist architecture.

Architect Jeanne Gang is the founding partner of international architecture and urban design practice Studio Gang.
