About Yasmin Williams
Williams draws from Black musical traditions and the legacies of pioneering Black women guitarists to create a sound that redefines modern fingerstyle guitar and positions her as a true artist of the new century. Her acclaimed album, Urban Driftwood (2021), has been praised by numerous publications such as Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, The Washington Post, NPR Music, No Depression, Paste Magazine, and many others. In Williams' latest album, Acadia, she plays a variety of instruments: guitar, banjo, calabash drum, kora, and even tap shoes.
