Celebrate Halloween with a night of Art Deco elegance and Jazz Age spirit. Presented in partnership with the Art Deco Society of Washington, D.C., this event also marks the centennial of the Art Deco movement, first introduced at the 1925 International Exposition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris.
Enjoy live music from Brandon Woody’s Big Band, performing the works of Duke Ellington, along with activities and entertainment inspired by the 1920s–40s. The evening will also feature a “Most Swellegant” Costume Contest, screenings of Frankenstein (1931) and The Black Cat (1934) in the Great Hall, and after-hours access to the museum’s exhibitions. Blending jazz, film, fashion, and a hint of fright, this one-of-a-kind celebration brings a spooky twist to timeless Art Deco style.
