The second Saturday of each month, families are invited to join the National Building Museum for STEAM activities related to our Brick City exhibition. Each activity challenges children to think creatively and experimentally using principles of design thinking and engineering.
March Activity:
In honor of Women’s History Month, learn about Maya Lin, the visionary architect and artist known for her environmental artworks, architectural works, and memorial designs, including the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Then, design and build your own monument using craft materials, exploring key design principles as you create your structure.
STEAM Saturdays are targeted towards children in grades 2nd-6th and their caregivers and occur monthly on the second Saturday.
FREE with museum admission, registration strongly encouraged.
A special thank you to our sponsor MiTek.
